Drug-free community support grants for Westchester-Putnam

WASHINGTON – The Office of National Drug Control Policy grant program has approved four grants of $125,000 in fresh federal funds to the Putnam County Community Board Coalition, the Port Chester Cares Community Coalition, the Mount Vernon Community That Cares Coalition, and the Pelham PACT Coalition.

The money will be used to support programs that work to prevent and reduce youth drug and alcohol abuse in Westchester and Putnam counties.

The four county coalitions were each awarded $125,000 under the Fiscal Year 2008 Drug Free Communities support Program of the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. The money will be used to prevent and reduce drug and alcohol abuse among youth in the two county area.
