Sullivan DPW worker killed in motorcycle crash
BARRYVILLE – A Barryville man employed with the Sullivan County Public Works Department at the Barryville garage was killed when his motorcycle ran off Route 55 not far from the garage.
Sullivan County Undersheriff Eric Chaboty said Michael Messina, 38, left work at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday and pulled onto Route 55. His motorcycle ran off the road a short distance from the garage, traveled for 400 feet through a field before he struck a tree.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
