Political notes
- Teamsters Local 445 has endorsed Democrat Stephen Hunter in his bid to be elected for a full term as Orange County Surrogate’s Court Judge this November. “Hunter has the experience and values to continue to be a great Surrogate’s Court Judge,” said Secretary-Treasurer Adrian Huff. Hunter was appointed to the post earlier this year by the governor.
- Jonathan Smith, a Democratic and Working Families Party candidate for Assembly in the 102nd District, Monday received the endorsement of Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the son of the former New York Senator and U.S. Attorney General Robert Kennedy. He was also endorsed by Citizen Action of New York.
- The City of Kingston Democratic committee unanimously endorsed John Parete for reelection for chairman of the Ulster County Democratic Committee on Monday night. Parete, the current chairman, is being challenged by Julian Schreibman, at the September convention.
