Walden fire hits house

WALDEN – Fire Saturday night in the Village of Walden damaged a car and house.

According to early reports, fire erupted in the garage at a North Montgomery Street fire at around 10 p.m. One local resident said the fire started with an explosion.

Reports indicate the two-alarm fire started in a car in a garage and spread to a house.

Fire inspectors were called to the scene.

Meanwhile, about an hour later, fire was reported in a house at 24 Woodhaven Drive in New City. Hillcrest and Nanuet fire departments were at the scene.
