West Point, Vassar College on Forbes’ Top 50 Colleges in America list

MID-HUDSON – Both the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and Vassar College in the Town of Poughkeepsie have made it to the Forbes magazine America’s Best Colleges top 50 list.

West Point is ranked sixth behind Princeton University, California Institute of Technology, Harvard, Swarthmore and Williams. Vassar was ranked 31st.

There is no tuition at West Point, compared to $48,565 per year at Vassar. Number one Princeton charges $47,975 in annual tuition.

The SAT range at West Point is 1160 to 1360 while at Vassar it is 1300 to 1460.

The percentage of applicants admitted to West Point is 12.75 percent; it is 25 percent at Vassar.
