Poughkeepsie Common Council wants river view

City waterfront at Wayras Park
The Poughkeepsie Common Council wants to make sure that the view of the Hudson River is never obstructed by tall buildings.

The council will discuss the issue and seek input, said Majority Leader Frank Mora. A public hearing is set for September 15th to discuss limiting the height of buildings at the waterfront so certain upper areas like the Poughkeepsie Railroad Station, Cal Rock, Mid-Hudson Bridge and others in the watershed, are not obstructed by buildings that are too high.

The council also set a public hearing for the end of the month to get public input on the proposed Bonura project on the southern waterfront area.
