Town of Newburgh’s largest retailer to open soon

The Lowe’s Home Improvement store at the corner of Routes 17K and 300 in the Town of Newburgh will open in about two weeks.

A certificate of occupancy has been issued, but no certificate has been approved yet for the site, said town supervisor Wayne Booth. “Right now they’re waiting for the site CO, which requires Department of Transportation Approval, which will be obtained after they are finished with the paving on Route 300 and 17K,” he said.

New turning lanes have been added to those roadways to provide easy access to the new store.

A restaurant and book store were also on the original plans for that corner lot, however, no construction has been started on either of those at this point.
