Poughkeepsie man arrested in Internet sting

Westchester County District Attorney Jeanine Pirro yesterday announced the 88 th arrest in the Undercover Internet Stings conducted by the High Technology Crimes Bureau of her office.

District Attorney investigators arrested Richie Levine, 26, of Poughkeepsie and charged him with one count of attempted dissemination of indecent material to minors in the first degree. He was arrested yesterday as he attempted to meet an under cover investigator who posed as a 14-year-old girl.

It is alleged that earlier this month, Levine had online conversations with someone he thought was the teenager. The girl was actually an investigator from the DA's office.

If convicted, the crime is punishable by a maximum sentence of four years in state prison.

To date, Pirro's undercover sting operation has a 100 percent conviction rate.
