Man charged with threatening family member with knife

RIFTON – The Ulster County Sheriff’s office has arrested an 18-year-old Rifton man and charged him with menacing.

Police said Ryan Small was arrested following a 911 call for a domestic dispute.

Deputies said small had an argument with a family member and haled a knife to the throat of that person during the argument. There were no injuries.

Small was charged with menacing in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree.

He was arraigned and remanded to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $500 bail.
