Riverkeeper attorney wins EPA award

TARRYTOWN - Riverkeeper’s General Counsel and Director of Enforcement Dr. Robert Goldstein was presented with an EPA Environmental Quality Award.

In honor of Earth Day, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency recognized individuals, organizations and businesses who have dedicated time and energy to protecting the environment and public health in EPA Region 2, which includes New Jersey, New York, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands and seven federally recognized Indian Nations.

Goldstein was selected for his work leading Riverkeeper’s legal team in protecting the Hudson River Estuary and the New York City watershed. At Riverkeeper, he also handles the Hudson River PCB Superfund site; he is a member of the Community Advisory Group and is helping the Fort Edward community deal with the pollution from the GE plants. As a professor at the United States Military Academy at West Point, he is teaching their first course on Global Climate Change and Environmental Law.
