Accident knocks out power

TOWN OF WALLKILL -- An auto accident at Route 211 and Bert Crawford Road in the Town of Wallkill this evening knocked out power and cable TV to an area of Route 211 to Silver Lake Scotchtown Road area.

The lights went out at 8:06 p.m. when the accident occurred, said Police Chief Robert Hertman. No one was injured.

While some power and cable were restored 45 minutes later, the remainder of customers were expected to be back a short time later.

A traffic light at Rute 211 and Bert Crawford Road was off because of the outage, said Hertman.
