Indiana man arrested in hit and run of seven-year-old

NEW CITY – A Brazil, Indiana man has been taken into custody in that state by the US Marshals Service in on an indictment charging him with a hit-and-run accident in Congers on November 21, 2017.

A seven-year-old girl on her way to school was struck by a vehicle allegedly driven Carlos Osvaldo Garcia-Gonzalez, 27, as she walked near the intersection of Lakewood Drive and Lakewood Avenue in Congers. The girl sustained a broken leg. The vehicle that struck her fled without stopping.

Investigation by Clarkstown Police revealed a possible location of Garcia-Gonzalez. Tahta information was passed to the Marshal’s Service, which apprehended him.
