Four arrested after high school baseball field vandalized

BREWSTER – Four men were arrested after the Brewster High School baseball field was vandalized.    

Just before 5 a.m. on March 10, Putnam County sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a report of a vehicle doing “donuts” on the high school baseball field. Responding officers observed an occupied vehicle stuck on the baseball field.

Investigation revealed the driver caused approximately $1,000 in damage to the field. Cole Crandell, 19, of the Town of Southeast was arrested and charged with felony criminal mischief and a violation of trespass.

Other occupants in the vehicle, Tino Surace, 19, of Southeast; Brian Milano, 19, of Southeast; and Nicholas Leahy, 19, of Patterson, were all charged with a violation of trespassing.

Crandall was arraigned and released on his own recognizance. The other three were issued appearance tickets returnable to Southeast Town Court.
