Demolition of the old TZ Bridge postponed

NYACK – Demolition of the last standing section of the old Tappan Zee Bridge over the Hudson River, scheduled for this Saturday, has been postponed. A new date has not been announced.

Tappan Zee Contractors, the company that built the new bridge and is tasked with dismantling the old structure, had planned on blowing up the last section, but postponed it due to inclement weather.

The company said the sustained winds caused delays to the preparatory work of the planned demolition operation.
