Port Jervis Police investigate sexual assault

PORT JERVIS – Detectives in Port Jervis are investigating an early morning sexual assault that was reported to have occurred around midnight, into early morning Saturday, September 15.

The incident happened near Fowler Street, according to Port Jervis Police Chief William Worden.

It was reported that an adult female was walking to her residence and was attacked from behind and sexually assaulted.  The victim was treated at Bon Secours Community Hospital.

Detectives are continuing to investigate.  They are not releasing information about a suspect at this time in order not to compromise the investigation.

Police are requesting anyone from the public with information to contact PJPD detectives at 845-858-4003.
