HIGHLAND FALLS – A husband and wife are dead in a murder-suicide stemming from domestic incident in Highland Falls.

State Police were called to their home on Knox Road around 8:40 a.m. Friday and found both dead.

A preliminary investigation indicates that Mario Vanzetta, 41, killed his wife, Stephanie Vanzetta, 41, before taking his own life. It is believed Vanzetta used a gun he owned, shot his wife outside and then dragged her body into their house.

The couple has three children.

One area resident who knew the couple said Vanzetta was an air marshal.

Autopsies will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.
