Hudson-Gateway home sales down

WHITE PLAINS – Home sales in the Hudson Gateway Association of Realtors’ territory during the third quarter declined compared to the same period in 2017.

Sales of all types of homes declined by 5.2 percent in Westchester County, by 1.8 percent in Orange County, by 1.2 percent in Rockland County, and by 0.3 percent in Putnam County.

Third quarter median sale prices of single-family homes were up in all counties except Westchester, which dipped 0.1 percent, to $679,000.

Prices rose by 5.9 percent, to $360,000, in Putnam County; by 6.7 percent, to $475,000, in Rockland County; and by 7.8 percent, to $275,000, in Orange County.

End of third quarter inventory of all homes fell by 1.3 percent in Putnam County and by 1.7 percent in Orange County, but they rose by 1.0 percent in Westchester County and by 3.6 percent in Rockland County.
