Port Jervis to continue sidewalk replacement with state funds

PORT JERVIS – The City of Port Jervis will have the opportunity to continue its sidewalk replacement program thanks to a $100,000 state grant secured by Senator John Bonacic.

Mayor Kelly Decker said the money will pay for a continuation of new sidewalk installation in the downtown business district.

“What we would call the south side or the west side of Front Street is the second part of the phase for s to get these sidewalks completed in our new downtown Front Street,” he said. “Any additional monies we will then be switching up to Pike Street as we begin to expand from that central location of the redevelopment of the downtown throughout the rest of the city.”

Decker said the continued sidewalk replacement project will add to the economic revitalization of the city.
