Two charged with giving false names Town of Ulster

ULSTER – Ulster County Sheriff’s deputies arrested two men following an investigation into a report of suspicious activity at a Penstock Lane address in the Town of Ulster.

Arrested on the evening of March 5 were Antonio Vega III, 32, and Angel Mendez-Caban, 23, both of Ellenville.

Mendez-Caban was charged with criminal contempt and a violation of unlawful possession of marijuana. Investigation revealed that Mendez-Caban was prohibited from being at that location due to an active order of protection. He was also found in possession of marijuana. He is in the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond.

Vega was charged with false personation for provided a false name and date of birth to avoid an outstanding warrant for his arrest for a parole violation. Vega was sent to the Ulster County Jail without bail.
