BLOOMING GROVE – The cab of a tractor-trailer went up in flames Friday afternoon as wind, snow and rain pounded the area.

Around 3:30, the Chester Fire Department responded to the fire at Route 94 and Craigville Road in Blooming Grove. Flames raged from the cab of the big-rig with black smoke billowing into the sky through the falling snow.

The driver got out safely.

There was no word as to what caused the fire and what the truck was hauling.

The section of Route 94 impacted was closed for hours.
