Putnam store owner arrested for grand larceny

TOWN OF SOUTHEAST – A LaGrange man who owns a flooring company in the Town of Southeast has been charged with five counts of grand larceny and scheme to defraud, all as felonies for allegedly taking thousands of dollars in payments from victims and never performing any work or services for them.

Troopers received several complaints of fraud from customers of R&D Flooring beginning in September 2017.

Investigation determined Raymond Demayo, 62, never did the work he had agreed to perform. He was sent to the Putnam County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond.

State Police believe there may be other victims and ask anyone with information regarding Demayo or R&D Flooring to call Investigator Melissa McMorris at 845-677-7300. All calls can remain confidential.
