Bronx man caught with funny money during traffic stop

and some of
the counterfeit bills

TOWN OF SOUTHEAST – State Police charged a Bronx man with felony possession of a forged instrument following a traffic stop on Interstate 84 in the Town of Southeast.

Troopers stopped Anthony Smith, 26, at around 2:20 a.m. on Tuesday, June 12 and determined he had three or more suspensions on his license and was in possession of three oxycodone pills, an illegal knife and $5,100 in counterfeit currency . He was sent to Putnam County Jail in lieu of $7,500 cash bail or $15,000 bond.
