Putnam Valley woman charged with identity theft

CORTLANDT – A Putnam Valley woman has been arrested by State Police and charged with making several purchased with a stolen credit card.

Rebecca Simmons, 33, was charged on February 8 with forgery, identity theft and criminal possession of stolen property, all as felonies, and identity theft as a misdemeanor.

On January 23 troopers received a complaint of possible identity theft in the Town of Cortlandt and investigation found she allegedly made several purchased with a stolen credit card.

Simmons was released on her own recognizance pending a future court appearance.
