Hyde Park man and woman arrested for drug possession

PLEASANT VALLEY – State Police, Tuesday, arrested a man and woman, both Hyde Park residents, on drug charges following a traffic stop on West Road in the Town of Pleasant Valley.

David Hanlon, Jr., 40, was charged with possession of marijuana and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon, all as felonies. Heather Eilenberger, 38, was charged with misdemeanor drug possession and unlawful possession of marijuana.

After stopping their car on West Road, troopers smelled a strong odor of marijuana and discovered Hanlon, the driver, in possession of just under three pounds of marijuana and two switchblade knifes while being a convicted felon. Eilenberger was found in possession of a small amount of cocaine and marijuana.

Hanlon was committed to the Dutchess County Jail without bail. Eilenberger was released on appearance tickets.
