Transition for Life Service to be held for Mayor Kennedy

NEWBURGH – A Transition of Life Service for Mayor Judy Kennedy will be held on Thursday, April 19 at the Newburgh Armory Unity Center. Family, friends and community are invited to attend the 11 a.m. service.

Kennedy died on Sunday after a long bout with ovarian cancer. She was 73.

She is survived by her mother, Lucille Hermsen of Baker City, Oregon; her brothers and their families; her sons and their families, Rick and Sally and grandchildren Kate and Sam; Ryan, Kyle and Kevin and Lorena.

The mayor asked donations be made to Habitat for Humanity, Newburgh Ministries, and Shot Spotter at Newburgh Police Department. Live flowers are also recommended so they can be replanted to beautify the city.

Funeral arrangments are by Brooks Funeral Home in Newburgh,
