Port Jervis woman charged with stabbing man in the face

PORT JERVIS – A 27-year-old Port Jervis man is recuperating at Bon Secours Community Hospital in Port Jervis after being stabbed repeatedly late Thursday night.

The victim sustained stab wounds to his face and abdomen and suffered from severe bleeding, Police Chief William Worden said on Friday.

Following an investigation, police arrested Vanessa Cavalone, 33, of Pennsylvania Avenue in Port Jervis, and charged her with assault and burglary, both as felony.

She is accused of unlawfully entering a residence and assaulting and stabbing the victim several times with a knife causing serious physical injury.

Cavalone was remanded to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.
