State awards supportive housing grants

ALBANY – Several agencies in the Mid-Hudson Valley that provide supportive housing for homeless persons with special needs, conditions or other challenges, will receive state funding.

The conditional awards are for service and operating funding needed to operate permanent supporting housing units. The awards will allow applicants to secure separate capital funding to finance the development and construction of their housing project.

Area grants include:

  • Mental Health Association of Columbia-Greene Counties, Inc.
  • Hudson River Housing, Inc. in Dutchess County
  • Regional Economic Community Action Program in Orange County
  • Community Housing Innovations Inc. in Orange County
  • Access Supports for Living (three awards) in Sullivan County
  • Community Housing Innovations, Inc., (two awards) in Westchester County
  • Westhab, Inc., in Westchester County
  • Guidance Center Westchester in Westchester County
  • St. Joseph’s Hospital in Yonkers
  • Search for Change, Inc. in Westchester County
  • Washingtonville Housing Alliance, Inc., in Westchester County
