Home sales up in Ulster County

KINGSTON – Sales of single-family homes in Ulster County in September increased over the same month last year, the Ulster County Board of Realtors reported Wednesday.

Sales increased from 139 last year to 144 this September.  Days on the market and number of available listings were both down, typically indicators of a buyer's market.

The median price last month was $219,900, compared with $204,000 one year earlier. The average selling price dipped to $254,150 compared with $259,253 in September 2016.

Year-to-date, the Board of Realtors reported home sales were 1,230 compared with 1,154 last year.   The average selling price of $254,665 was up from 2016, when it was $235,217.

Days on the market in the first nine months of 2017 totaled 119, compared with 137 during the same period last year.
