Saugerties man arrested on felony drug charges

SAUGERTIES – Ulster County Sheriff’s deputies have arrested a Saugerties man on a charge of felony criminal possession of marijuana.

Michael Kelly, 23, was also charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and several traffic violations.

On December 27 deputies stopped the vehicle Kelly was driving on Broadway in the City of Kingston for a traffic violation. He was found to be driving with a suspended driver's license and further investigation revealed he was in possession of more than eight ounces of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Kelly was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the City of Kingston Court at a later date.
