Ulster Legislator promotes Law Enforcement Appreciation Day

KINGSTON – Ulster County Legislator Mary Beth Maio would like county residents to say ‘thank you’ to the county’s police community on January 9, National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day.

Maio, who is on the legislature’s Law Enforcement Committee, said residents should show their gratitude and respect to the police on that day.

“I am looking for people to wear blue, because I think that is a nice sign for everybody to recognize and just to say thank you if they happen to run into a police officer that day and it is really about recognizing law enforcement in Ulster County and especially if we can do it with the whole community getting kids involved,” she said.

Maio has an extra special reason to promote respect for police officers. Her son is policeman in Marlboro.
