Cottekill man arrested for drug trafficking in Kingston

KINGSTON – A Cottekill man was arrested in Kingston on Wednesday afternoon following an investigation into narcotics sales and trafficking in the city and surrounding areas.

Dezmond Stokes, 42, was taken into custody without incident on Gill Street and found in possession of heroin, cocaine and marijuana.

The City Police Special Investigations Unit and URGENT Task Force officers accompanied by a K-9, executed a search warrant at his home in Cottekill and seized a large amount of heroin, cocaine, cash and drug paraphernalia.

Stokes was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana.
