Man accused of Stony Point car larcenies

STONY POINT – A Stony Point man is charged with grand larceny and two counts of criminal possession of stolen property including a credit card after he was caught hiding near the scene of a car larceny.

Stony Point Town Police said at about 4 a.m. on Thursday, November 30, a resident of Lewis Drive called to report she saw someone insider her vehicle that was parked in her driveway. Her husband chased the man as he ran away.

A responding patrol officer located Daniel Monahan, 20, hiding in Laurel Park, a short distance away.

Monahan was charged with larceny from that car and connected to at least one more car larceny, police said. He was released without bail pending a future court appearance.
