Nyack to offer solarize campaign for all of Rockland

NYACK – Nyack will take part in a non-profit program to make investing in solar power easier and more affordable for local residents and businesses across Rockland County.

Solarize Nyack Plus is partnering with Solarize Hudson Valley to make the process easier and more affordable by educating consumers about state and federal incentives and selecting qualified installers who offer discounts on contracts signed by the end of the campaign.

Residents and business owners who sign up for a free solar assessment by June 30 will be able to take advantage of group rates below market prices. Officials said when added to state and federal incentives and tax credits, the group purchase discount can cut the cost of going solar by more than half.

Nyack Mayor Jennifer White said the program “fits perfectly with our current efforts to help our residents and businesses use alternative energy and save money.

Solarize Nyack Plus is supported by New York State Energy Research and Development Authority.
