Former nursing home counselor indicted on sexual abuse charges

KINGSTON – A former counselor at the Northeast Center for Special Care in the Town of Ulster has been indicted on charges that he sexually abused six residents of the facility, all of whom suffered from traumatic brain injuries.

Between July 2014 and February 2015, Jacky Stanley, 50, of Kingston, who was a counselor at the facility, allegedly used his position at the center to gain access to the patients and forcibly perform sex acts on them. In one instance, the patient was asleep at the time.

He was suspended and later terminated based on the allegations. Orders of protection were issued for each of the victims.

Stanley faces a 33-count indictment charging him with predatory sexual assault, several counts of criminal sexual act, several counts of sexual abuse, all as felonies, and related charges.  He faces 10 years in prison if convicted.
