Florida man arrested as deadbeat dad in Orange County, NY child support case

NEW YORK – Federal authorities arrested a State of Florida man on a charge that he failed to pay $158,708 in child support for his children, who live in Tuxedo.

Kurtiss Tomasovich, 51, is charged with one count of failing to pay child support, which carries up to two years in federal prison.

A New York State Supreme Court ruling ordered him to pay a minimum of $3,000 per month in child support beginning in 2008. From at least February 2008 until at least April 2014, Tomasovich failed to pay the more than $158,000.

Authorities said he had sufficient assets available to pay. They said that Tomasovich and his second wife have had access to substantial funds and have owned and operated several businesses in Florida during that time period.
