POUGHKEEPSIE – The attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, marked a pivotal moment in world history. The United States joined forces with free people around the world to fight tyranny that sought to bring about a new world order that was built on hatred of certain humans.

The war ended on September 2, 1945, but the scars remain.

In Pearl Harbor, the wreckage of the USS Arizona serves as a daily reminder of the sacrifices brave soldiers and sailors made in protecting our freedoms.  On December 7, 1941, 2,403 people died at Pearl Harbor.  Of those, 2,008 were members of the United States Navy who perished during the relentless attack by the Japanese.
