College student falls five stories to her death from Kutsher’s building

TOWN OF THOMPSON – A 21-year-old Redding, Connecticut woman who was staying at Kutsher’s Resort in the Town of Thompson while working for a concert promoter, fell from the roof of one of the buildings early Friday morning and died.

State Police said Megan Dunleavy, a senior at Hartwick College in Oneonta, fell accidentally from the five story building. No foul play is suspected.

Dunleavy, who was studying chemistry, was working for promoter Damn Sam Productions and assisting in the organization and planning of the New York harvest Festival and Freedom Fair, scheduled for October 11 through the 14th.

Town officials shut the facilities down because of reported code violations.

A concert festival planned at Kutsher's was shut down before it opened after code violations were discovered there on Friday.
