Police identify family involved in fatal shootings

PLEASANT VALLEY – Police have identified the family involved in the fatal shootings in Pleasant Valley on Thursday.


Missing:

Abbas Lodhi, 49, and his two sons, Zain Lodhi, 9, and Mugthba Lodi, 13, who are all dead, victims of shotgun wounds.

Sarwat Lodhi, 43, is missing and police are trying to locate her as they say she may be injured and in need of medical attention.

Anyone with information about her whereabouts is asked to call State Police Troop K at 845-677-7300.

The father and one son were found dead in a car in the A&P supermarket parking lot around 8:30 a.m. Police then went to the family’s apartment nearby and found the other son dead.

Three people were found dead in Pleasant Valley Thursday morning and State Police are investigating. A father and two school-age boys were identified as the victims. All three were shot to death. An adult female, who is believed injured, is missing and police are trying to locate her.

Authorities said two people were found dead inside a vehicle in the parking lot of the A&P Supermarket at around 8:30 a.m. The murder weapon, a shotgun, was found at the scene.

As a result of investigation, a third person was found dead at the family’s apartment.

BCI Capt. John Ryan called the incident a family tragedy.

“I think it is one of the most or more tragic things that I have seen. I find myself, having two young boys, it is emotional seeing what has happened to these kids and I couldn’t even put words into how tragic it is for all of us,” he said.

The investigation into the circumstances of the incident is continuing.
