MAHOPAC – The Mahopac business district is “a vital economic corridor in Putnam County” and State Senator Gregory Ball (R, Patterson), said he is working with Congressman Sean Patrick Maloney (D, Cold Spring) to enhance the small business climate.

To that end, both men toured downtown businesses on Friday. “Our ma and pa shops in Mahopac have so many wonderful goods and services to offer. They also have a unique insight into the red tape and obstacles that government often creates,” Ball said. Maloney called them “the backbone of communities [that] drive economic growth in the Hudson Valley.

As a result of the tour, Putnam County Chamber of Commerce Chairwoman Jennifer Maher said they would work with the Mahopac chamber “to identify priorities [and] put a plan in place to implement in order to create a more attractive, pedestrian friendly commerce district.”
