Dr. Hudson

GOSHEN – Orange County Health Commissioner Dr. Jean Hudson is going to retire in three months.
Dr. Hudson has held the position for 10 years, having served in other public health positions for a decade before and was in family practice for 20 years before that.

She enjoyed her tenure in Orange County and feels her office accomplished much.

Under her leadership, the health department formed the Medical Reserve Corps, the Healthy Orange Initiative and worked on outbreaks including the mumps outbreaks with which she worked with the CDC. “we had several papers published about that which made a difference to0 the way mumps outbreaks are controlled now,” she said.

Hudson will retire at the end of May, but a search for a replacement will begin immediately and include her.

As for retirement, she plans to enjoy sailing with her husband, who is also going to retire from his banking position, as well as spend time with family in her native England.
