Lake Katrine man arrested for Kingston armed robbery

KINGSTON – City Police in Kingston have arrested a Lake Katrine man and charged him with armed robbery following an incident at the CVS store on Washington Avenue just before midnight on Wednesday.

The store clerk told police a man was walking around the store attempting to hide his face from the cameras. When officers arrived, they saw the man, later identified as Robert Sauers, 25, of 112 Parish Lane in Lake Katrine, run from the shop, but after a brief pursuit, he was taken into custody.

As Sauers was being placed in the patrol car, the clerk came out and stated he had just been robbed. Police charged him with armed robbery, but did not say what weapon he possessed.
