Three charged with endangering a child for smoking pot with baby present

ESOPUS – The Ulster County Sheriff’s Office arrested three people at 30 Black Creek Road in Esopus on charges of endangering the welfare of a child.

The sheriff’s office and Ulster County Child Protective Services checked an apartment at that address following a tip that suggested that adults were using drugs with a six-month-old infant present.

As authorities arrived, they smelled marijuana coming from the apartment. Investigation found that all three had been using the drug with the baby there. A quantity of marijuana was also found there.

Charged with endangering the welfare of a child were Emiro Saavedra, 26, Danielle Roosa, 20, and Daniel Kracht, 22, all of that address. Saavedra and Roosa were also charged with the violation of unlawful possession of marijuana.

All three were issued appearance tickets returnable to Town of Esopus Court.
