Six women arrested in Newburgh prostitution sweep

NEWBURGH – Police conducted a prostitution sweep on Friday that resulted in the arrests of six women in Newburgh. City and State Police, along with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, conducted the operation.

Arrested for prostitution were Michelle Siano, 33, Anna Entwistle, 43, Beverly Melivin, 50, Rosita Cruz, 56, Lourdes Lopez, 32, and Jacqueline Pearsall, 26, all from the City of Newburgh.

Police also arrested Alejandro Vega, 39, of Newburgh, on a charge of patronizing a prostitute.

All of those arrested were held in the city lockup pending next day arraignment.
