Poughkeepsie man charged with murder in Greene County

POUGHKEEPSIE – State Police have arrested a Poughkeepsie man in connection with the murder of a Greenville man inside his Greene County home on New Year’s Day.

Maurice Pratt, 30, of 3 Hammersly Avenue in Poughkeepsie was charged with felony murder in the first degree in the killing of Scott Myer, 40, of West Road in Greenville.

Myer was last seen during the days before Christmas.

State Police at Catskill, Kingston and Troop F Major Crimes Unit responded to the residence and began an investigation assisted by the Greene County District Attorney’s Office, Greene County Sheriff’s Office, police in the Village of Catskill, and cities of Poughkeepsie and Kingston as well as State Parole.

The investigation is continuing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the State Police 518-622-8600.
