Man shot in the leg in Newburgh

NEWBURGH – A 33-year-old Newburgh man was treated Thursday night for a gunshot wound to the leg.

The Newburgh resident told police that he was walking on DuBois Street with another person around 10:40 p.m. when he heard two shots being fired on Van Ness Street. He then discovered he had been shot in the leg.

The victim went to St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital for treatment of the wound to his left calf. The injury was minor, police said.

No crime scene was located on Dubois or Van Ness streets. There have been no arrests made.
