NORTH SALEM – A 47-year-old Purdys man was killed as he walked along Route 22 in North Salem Friday afternoon.

State Police at Somers said William Geller was walking northbound among the shoulder of the road with his back to traffic when he was struck from behind by a car driven by Richard Bertram, 88, of Somers.
