Two charged with robbery of travel center employee

TOWN OF NEWBURGH – A man and woman were sent to the Orange County Jail in connection with the December 10 evening assault and robbery of an employee at the Modena Travel Center in the Town of Newburgh.

State Police arrested Anthony Velsor, 27, and Nicholle Galgan, 19, both from the Town of Newburgh on charges of felony robbery.  The two allegedly stole cash and personal property from the 21-year-old victim, who was treated for facial and back injuries at St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital’s Newburgh campus.

Police said the investigation is continuing and additional charges are pending as well as an additional suspect is being sought.

Galgan and Velsor are in the Orange County Jail. Bail was set at $2,500 for Galgan and $7,500 for Velsor.
