|
GARDINER – A New Paltz man is in the Ulster County Jail without bail after being arrested for alleging having sex with a 13-year-old girl. Ulster County Sheriff's deputies began their investigation on August 30 and arrested Ian Mehrhof of 36 Scenic Ridge Road in New Paltz on a charge of second-degree rape. Police said Mehrhof had contact with the child on Facebook, arranged a meeting and took her to a secluded area of the Town of Gardiner where he had sexual contact with her. Additional charges are anticipated, police said. Deputies were assisted by the Ulster County Probation Department and the URGENT task force. |
