Three car crash injures two

TOWN OF WOODBURY – Two people were injured in a three-car crash on Route 6 in the Town of Woodbury early Tuesday evening.

Woodbury Police said Andrea Coleman, 45, of Monroe was westbound on Route 6 around 6:10 p.m. when she was distracted by sun glare and rear ended a car driven by Matthew Yeager, 24, of Middletown. His car crossed into the opposite lane of traffic and struck a vehicle driven by Bertha Rogers, 71, of Delhi.

Yeager’s vehicle caught fire and was extinguished by a passerby. Yeager was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern.

Rogers was trapped in her vehicle and had to be extricated by the Jaws of Life. She was flown to Westchester Medical Center for what police said were severe injuries.

Woodbury Police were assisted at the scene by Town of Woodbury Fire and Volunteer Ambulance corp., Kiryas Joel Ambulance and Stat Flight helicopter.
