Woodstock doctor pleads guilty to drug distribution

ALBANY – A physician from Woodstock pled guilty in US District Court in Albany on Wednesday to a felony charge of distributing and possessing with intent to distribute, Hydrocodone without a legitimate medical purpose and outside the usual course of professional practice.

The plea agreement states that from November 3, 2011 through March 21, 2012, Dr. Wayne Longmore, 63, sold prescriptions for the drug in order to profit from his medical practice. He made $60 in cash for each prescription.

As part of his plea agreement, Longmore admitted that he is responsible for the distribution of between 2,500 and 5,000 units of Hydrocodone.

Longmore faces up to 10 years in federal prison, up to a $500,000 fine and at least two years of parole when sentenced next February.
